I decided to switch from shaving gel because the last two cans of Gillette shaving gel held up the pressure and I was stuck with a completely useless can. Came as advertised. Works well, seems to stay waterproof for weeks. However, I wouldn't recommend it for people who are used to using a shaving bowl as the bowl is a bit shallow compared to the cup and some foam spills over the edges. The shallow bowl also means you can store just a small bar of soap between uses. Not sure what I was expecting but it wasn't. The lid won't fit if you put a decent soap washing machine inside. Also remember that this is not a brush tray, it is too small for this purpose. It's just for holding a small washer and refilling the brush. If you buy washers to go with them then that's fine, they will look great on your dressing table. I won't be returning it, but I use it to store fresh blades.

Doesn't look that elegant but after reading reviews that some of the other (IMO) more attractive shells were too small I got this one given chance. It has a lot of varnish/gloss in it which makes it look shinier than I would like. I suspect the coating is also the source of the strong chemical odor that interferes with the smell of the soap placed inside.
