Don't buy this! for accessories and consumables

i don't know if it works or not. We were asked to buy this to install a webboost amp. Webboost doesn't work here. We sent it back with the amp and were told there were no refunds on this item! Don't buy it, you lose money!

Will not fit Cell Phone Amplifier Cable

. I ordered this as extra protection for the Cell Phone Amplifier, but it only fits standard cords used on Cable TV, Dish and DirecTV. It doesn't work with cables used in phone amplifiers, so it's useless to me. Might be a good product for those who have the right cable for it.

I hope I never need it.

Hope I never need it as a lightning protection device. However, this is a wise precaution when working with outdoor antennas. The key is to attach a ground wire to the case that will conduct the electrons to ground. If lightning strikes I doubt it will survive, but more importantly it protects everything downstream of the antenna.

  • Quality construction

Some issues with this product

Looks and feels like a quality product. There should be instructions on how to tighten the screw that holds the GDT in place. There should also be a warning that the screw doesn't reach the bottom. This product comes with only one GDT and no information on how to obtain a replacement. If you don't have spare parts, there are other built-in RG6 coax cable filters that are much cheaper.

ISP said it's causing our weak signal

Installed this device and it seemed to work fine for 5 days. Internet and telephone worked perfectly. Then on day 6, the internet was awful intermittently. The ISP tech came out and said he measured a very weak return signal on our cable. When he replaced that surge protector with his own, he measured the signal and it was strong again. He said that this device is definitely causing the problem. I don't know why it seemed normal for 5 days but I'm returning it as our internet and phones are…

Pros
  • Surge Protector
Cons
  • Out of fashion

This thing is like a lightbulb - you plug it into an outlet and it either conducts electricity or it doesn't. not mine. Also, I had to redesign the connector because one of the F-connector's conductor holes was literally smaller than the RG-6's center conductor. After reconnecting, sawing the center conductor to the tip (making it too long) and carefully inserting it, I found it didn't pass any current either. F run? 67 channels. Overvoltage protection? 0 channels, 0 signals. Be warned that…
