Why make a "hard" case for something as important as hard drives/electronics that are, well, hard? The edges are fine, but with a small width, it can be squeezed without effort. They had to travel with my external hard drives. The housings are 25-30% larger, so today's standard drive sizes slip despite the mesh. And there's no padding inside, so it's going to pound. I think that's what you get for $7. No problem with returns. Straight to the trash :/

Toshiba's 2TB external hard drive fits in this case with one inch of headroom. There's a mesh side room that offers plenty of room for a cable and maybe a few small items. I assume any external drive about 1/2-3/4 inch thick will do. The case is lightly textured and stiff enough to protect with a slight bend. It closes seamlessly making it a great little holdall. I found that I have a 500GB drive in a similar case. mine with "silver" marking. Highly recommended
