This book did no good. It's more of a series of short stories about a group of dysfunctional friends than anything else. I struggled to get through it and was glad it was 90% over (the last 10% is thanks and a preview). And it just ends abruptly. There is no conclusion.

It was fun, easy to read and I liked the three main women. However, I wanted to know what happened to some other marriages. An epilogue would be a nice touch.

This book is great for any high school girl. It is devoted to the issues of growing up and growing up. It's addicting, you can't put it down! I didn't buy it on ebay.

If the first rule of creative writing is show, don't tell, this writer skipped that lesson. This book tells, tells and tells. I waited to care for one of the characters but was never able to connect emotionally. After hitting the 30% reading mark and still not caring about anyone, I gave up.

It was a disappointing read. Nothing special. There isn't an interesting story or character that you want to hear more about. Not recommended!

What happened to Ellen, who likes ugly boys? And Shannon, who was dating a political adviser? There were too many storylines. The author should have focused on 3-4 women and developed their characters more carefully. He also appeared extremely white and one-dimensional. Where were the women of color? Where were the LGBT women? It seemed unrealistic for a story supposedly set in New York. And because it seemed so one-dimensional, it turned out to be boring and banal.

I got married when I was 18, so I didn't understand much of this book, but her life really was what I envisioned: go to college and then live in a big city and be single. I laughed out loud at several points!

Read 30 pages and stop. I picked this book from my library because it sounded fun and cute. It was just about some girls who were constantly going to bars, getting drunk and feeling sad about their lives. Sorry, that's not necessary. Didn't even laugh for 30 pages. I've gotten to the point where if a book doesn't look like the first 50 pages describe it, I'll give up.

Stupid, narcissistic book. The writing style was so elementary that it was easy to read, otherwise I would never have read this book to the end.

Hardly anyone talks about the weird, awkward, and often painful experience of life after college, and I've never seen anyone capture it as well as Jennifer Close. In this intelligent, witty, and insightful read, she explores the challenges of growing up during those formative years from the perspective of several women, all so related you'll swear you actually know them. I was so captivated that I read the entire book in one weekend!

After reading The Hopefuls by Jennifer Close I decided to read her first novel and was not disappointed. This book was interesting; The characters were diverse, with lots of humor and catchy passages. Check out this book for a good time.
