Mmm Girthy best in Engine Guards

It's a bit of a hassle to line it up perfectly when putting it on, but they do the job and look great doing it. The girth makes the bike feel a bit bigger and now I have room for a cup holder πŸ‘Œ

Pros

Cons
  • Nothing here

Good quality and good price

Strong motor protection that is relatively easy to install. I searched the web for alternative installation instructions that were much simpler than the ones that came with Givi. Some people have mentioned vibration from the engine guard at higher RPM's which I haven't found. Overall, I can't think of a single aspect that was less than expected.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Some small things

2017 Honda CB500x, works great

No instructions with kit but pretty easy to understand. Installation isn't too difficult, but tightening the nuts on the frame under the headlight is a real bummer. It really helps if you have a ratchet wrench that goes with the nuts. There is no place for a socket wrench, but it is not so easy to tighten with an open-end or ring wrench. The rest was fairly easy to install, only requiring a socket wrench with at least a 3" extension.

Great protection and aesthetics for CB500x, works with RR skid plate

I've read mixed information on whether these roll bars will work with Rally Raid skid plates. I can confirm that this works. Yes, they mount to the same frame mount, you just need to buy two M10x1.25x40 (or 50) 14mm cap screws at the hardware store and you can install a deep hitch with extension on the pipe. at the attachment point of these crash bars. You cannot reuse the 17mm bolt that comes with the Rally Raid skid plate as the 17mm socket diameter is too large to fit the tubular part. The…

Good quality and good protection

Good quality and good protection. Just 3 minor issues: 1) Installation required a bit of persuasion (I just used ratchet straps around the rear tire to keep it lined up with the hole) to line up the screw without stripping. I just didn't use them - I didn't like the way they look anyway and the whole point of this is to protect the real bike anyway. 3) The instructions are very unclear as to which side is which, but it's pretty easy to calculate. Simply measure the left or right bolts…

Good protection and great looks. Crash test, dammit!

I get a lot of comments on her looks. They really enhance the look of the bike. And having found an icy patch on a ride a couple of weekends ago, I can rest assured that they will protect the bike from most damage, at least in a low-speed crash (I'm fine with that). on one side but otherwise intact. They've probably already paid for themselves! Installation was a bit fiddly, but that's ok. DO NOT remove all motor bolts at once. I've read that removing the motor with all the bolts removed to put
