No Wi-Fi Networking Products

The lack of Wi-Fi was a major downside for me. I was looking for faster VPN speeds advertised with their great simple user interface that I've seen in older versions but the lack of WiFi signal reception rendered them unusable for me. I haven't been able to test the VPN speeds, but I still think it's a solid product.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • I'm nervous

No Wi-Fi makes things limited

With no Wi-Fi its capabilities are very limited. Makes it a hardware only way to use a VPN. Yes the speed is good but you can only use ethernet. I mainly wanted this for USB C, but I'd wait until one comes with WiFi.

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • Crumpled

OpenVPN, Kill Switch, Clean GUI, CPU OK

Not as powerful as WRT 3200ACM with DDWRT but much better in terms of GUI, kill switch settings and VPN much easier to setup and run. I just want this device to have at least a 1.20-1.60 dual core processor.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Factor set

Great product just not for my problem.

I have GL-iNet Mango and love it but was looking for an upgrade and faster tethering speed with TirGuard VPN. Just like Mango, the setup is very simple and easy to set up. My issue is that I've only noticed a slight improvement with Brume over Mango when tied to my visible carrier phone. But my daily distance from the Verizon tower makes for a stable connection. Good for backup but not good for long daily maintenance. So there's really no need to spend extra money when Mango does what I need. I

Wireguard VPN powerhouse

I was looking for a gateway to add Wireguard VPN to my network. So far I've been running OpenVPN on a Synology NAS, but the speed was slow, so I added this device to my router and forwarded the WG port accordingly and configured the users. This device claims that Wireguard as a client provides up to 280 Mbit/s. . Since I'm mainly using it as a server, I can get max real-world speeds of up to 100Mbps with spikes of up to 120Mbps, which is half advertised, but it behaves like a server. Not that…

Pros
  • Decent performance

Great module: Router

Great module. Wireguard's performance is top notch. WiFi would be a great addition but it looks like they are already working on it. It can also run Debian out of the box, and as I said, it runs like a champ.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Easy to install and great web UI

Although the lack of Wi-Fi is frustrating, I like the speed and the extra storage. I tried installing the Ubuntu system and it works. Also, there are clear guidelines in their docs and everything else is easy to customize. A very special web UI as everything is straightforward. It's a good product but if it included Wi-Fi it would be perfect.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Modern

This is the first generation edge router for Glinet.

The device works as promised, it has more processing power than other travel routers. The supported Ubuntu is good, but the image needs more time to mature if you want a ready-made solution. may work like chroot/crouton chromebooks where you can switch OS without rebooting.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Secret
