This is the second that broke for me with little use. I like the branding and design of the packaging but given the cost I think the glass would be of better quality. The first one that broke I called "user error" but the second one just broke with no stress. I can no longer justify the cost of a replacement and would recommend the manufacturer to use higher quality glass. upset.

Very strong and high quality products - I swear by Brewing America. My wife broke my last one by banging it about 5 feet into the tile floor and shockingly it didn't break completely. Extremely strong but of course not indestructible as it is a type of glass. If you have a plastic hydrometer tube, throw it away and take it out so you can see it. If you have a general purpose hydrometer, buy a kit from Brewing America and you will be very satisfied.

At first I liked the cylinder. The small diameter limits the volume to be filled. Suitable for testing. Chosen for quality reasons. I have always been very careful with laboratory glass. This one has never been hit or heated. Cleaned overnight, rinsed and placed on a thick towel to air dry. The cylinder never changed position overnight. The next day it spontaneously formed a 2 inch tear from the edge down. Poor/lack of stress relief after edge forming. upset.

I'm an idiot. I thought the hydrometer and test were sold together but they are sold separately. Luckily I had an areometer with me and I really don't like the glass on the glass contact. There is no mark on the glass vial to find out the ml. Three stars are easy to use because afraid of breaking the glass. 4 stars overall because I think the quality is good with a few extras to help clean the test tube and paper to read and understand the hydrometer readings (hydrometer not included).

This is a good quality thick glass. Should be boxed for unbreakable storage and the box fits but mine was damaged. The Revain box contained two other items with some packing pads and was undamaged. However, the company's box had a hole 3 inches long and 1-2 inches wide! ! I was lucky the hose wasn't broken! The main disadvantage is that there are no instructions. Not everyone knows the process. We all have to learn, but it would be nice to know if we're doing it right!
