🧂 Greenbrier, Set of 2 Glass Salt and Pepper Shakers, 2-Inch Review

I wanted some nice old fashioned salt and pepper shakers that you would see in an old diner. They are perfect for that. Also, they're way more functional than the crappy disposables I used at the grocery store. The sprinkler dispenses just the right amount for each cocktail, so you don't have to pause and stop the shaker to sprinkle salt or pepper. A few touches and you're done. Plus, of course, they're made of glass so you can see how much you've got.

Standard glass salt/pepper shaker. The two shakers are identical, both can be used for salt or pepper (in my case they are all for different types of salt). One of the six shakers (pack of three) had a short tear where the neck met the strings, as often happens with cheap jars. The glass seemed smooth on both sides and I didn't think there was any risk of broken glass getting caught in the salt, but this shaker (and alternative salt shakers) was discarded anyway as a precaution.

I live in the Dominican Republic, maybe the salt we use is of a different quality than the one used in the US which I doubt, or our weather is wetter . I can tell you that I have used both bottles as salt shakers and both caps rusted in less than a month. I was horrified to see rusty salt stuck in the cap; which means we ate this junk for several days. This glass salt or pepper shaker is square rather than cylindrical and the glass is ridged rather than smooth making it durable. They measure 6 inches in circumference and 3 1/2 inches in height. The sides of the shaker are flat but taper towards the top where a rounded rim runs beneath the stainless steel lid.
