We live where summer can hit triple digits (105+) for a week or more. I bought this to attach to our 4 year old granddaughter's car seat to cool down her part of the car faster. Not that she tried, but she couldn't get her fingers in the blades, so it's safe. It works very well and generates strong wind. *After my first 1-star rating, the company contacted me and sent me a replacement fan with an additional battery and cable free of charge. It's worked great so far so I'm now updating my rating to 4 stars instead of 1. The company even sent a handwritten note with the replacement apologizing for the issues with the first one.
