Godox Softbox is designed to diffuse a strobe flash, giving you better even lighting. It comes with a silver reflective interior and a flush front face. It's necessary in any professional portrait studio. The soft box is equipped with grid. Internal and external diffuser (detachable), used to improve the hard / soft ratio of the flash's versatility. The large size of the soft box makes it ideal for fashion photography, portraits and medium and large size products.

Really. for light control and modifiers

Love the effect when shooting portraits, I bought a pair and they work great. Putting it together is a nightmare, I was afraid I would break them with all my might to bend the bars. Once assembled, do yourself a favor and leave it as is.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Cable shorter than others

Cannot be assembled properly, causing disassembly problems.

May not assemble correctly causing disassembly issues. I ended up bending the bars to take them apart after the misassembly. Normally I'd just say silly user error, but the confusion over multiple insertion points because the hub is used for several different types of modifiers causes build errors to occur more often than they need to be.

Godox 12 " x 47 " Bowens Mount Softbox

The swivel lock is on the inside, not the back like everyone else. Each time you want to rotate the softbox, you must remove the diffuser and grille to access the locking pin. It seems that all Godox Bowens mounts share the same problem or major design flaw. In addition, the assembly and disassembly makes you sweat and takes a lot of time. If you have to take it apart after each use, that wouldn't be ideal. By the way, there is no user manual or anything like that.

Pros
  • Softboxes
Cons
  • Security

A must for studio photography

Honestly, I invest in the Godox ecosystem. Multiple strobes, studio strobes, umbrellas, softboxes, wireless triggers, auxiliary bulbs, etc. These units are great for kickers or bottom fill in a butterfly lighting setup. The reticles are large and offer really good control. They can be tricky to put together, but they're light enough that I don't feel the need to take them apart for transport. Great light quality, great price, predictably above average Godox quality.

Cons

VERY DIFFICULT TO DISASSEMBLE

If you want to assemble them and use them in the studio, they're great. Ring, BUT disassembly is VERY difficult. I'm 6ft 3,220lbs and have at least average arm strength and it's so hard to take them off I just held them together and put them in the car as I couldn't see them. I have worked with many other brands (Chimera, Lite Disc, Aputure, Photofelx Impact and many others, and not as complex as this one

Pros
  • Lighting
Cons
  • Vulgarity
