SURPRISED BY THE QUALITY

For the price they are great. They are also good at a higher price. I used both flash (with adapter) and flash. GOOD TO KNOW: If you're shooting on a budget, you need to get yourself some sturdy lighting stands. They're not too heavy for what they are, but they're too heavy for lightweight $15-20 racks. My $50 Neweer tripod works great (so a mid-range tripod is good for photographers on a budget).

Great quality for the price, wish it had speed up options.

Kind of a special item, so I didn't want to invest a lot of money, but if you need it, you need it. Looks very heavy and high quality. Speed rings as such are useless, but I replaced some original Chimera Speedotron and profofo adapters with an outer ring and it works great. Very satisfied, worked great for lighting golf club shafts and rods and for dramatic portrait lighting. Highly recommended!

Not attached to studio flashes

Reasonably priced but beware they are not attached to studio flashes (AD600, Blaz 200 R2). The release clicks like it's secure, but they pop right out. Ironically, they remain mounted in S-shaped flash mounts. Just something to note. I have a hunch, it's because the pins on the Bowens mount are rounded, everything else I've tested (Reflectors, Cosmetic Shell, Octa) has fairly square pins.

Pros
  • Free for educational use

  • Nervous

Wouldn't stay installed. Collapsed.

I connected these Godox softboxes to my Godox SL60w and they never snapped securely into the Bowens mount. 3 strands/prongs seems too small and never snaps in the light. If I made a small adjustment to dim the light, it would cause them to collapse. I'm a full-time pro... had to send them back. It's so awkward. Replaced with Glow and no problem! It's so strange that the Godox brand didn't work with itself!

Amazing value for money! Works great with Profoto with adapter.

Everything was wrapped in lots of plastic which made me feel uneasy about the poor quality. However, internal values are taken into account. And it really is a great product. I am using a softbox on Profoto Flash via an adapter. Considering that genuine Profoto equipment costs ten times more I am very happy with the results. The light is not 100% evenly distributed over the entire height of the box, but it is sufficient for

It is good value for money but the quality is not very good.

I'm not new to softboxes etc so set up was easy. But the material is brittle, one broke on first assembly. They don't quite reach the quality of the more expensive boxes, but they work. For the money they are good. Two of these cost less than the proprietary flashlight box I have. Luckily I have Speed Rings for both Broncolor and Bowen. The included Bowens mount speed ring works great and I can also replace my bronze colored speed rings. Satisfied but not happy with the purchase. But I had to…

Sturdy but understated

Overall they're pretty solid. I bought them as cheap travel strips that I don't care if they get dirty or damaged. I used to buy sets on eBay that offered a little more set for the same money (a set with a large stripe, a small stripe, and a large rectangle). But eBay kits are made of thinner material with weaker corners holding the bar, which is a typical downside of these things. and having used them a few times I assume they will reasonably outlive their price.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for support and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

When assembled it is actually 63 x 11.5 cm, needs support

For the price you get an amazing softbox with a simple design. It costs $50-$60 and the only other alternative is 8x the price, so you really can't go wrong with it. Detailing: Assembled without the primary diffuser tab it is 63 x 13", assembled with the primary diffuser tab it is 63 x 12.5" with the addition of a grille it is 62.5 x 11.5". Landscape (horizontal ) Alignment, The top of the box sags to a width of 10.5-11" in the middle. This strip box would benefit from 2 more support bars in…
