Good product. Best in Light Controls and Modifiers

Absolutely amazing for the price. I knew I wouldn't be able to point to it before buying it, but knowing I would find a way, I took my Bowens mount and used it inside. I placed the screen on top of the flash and then attached it as usual. Now the flash is more centered and I can tilt it down perfectly. Easy installation, just minutes, great design. I could still try to install a better umbrella mount but this will work just fine. I'm thinking of disassembling the flash mount on the light stand…

Great value but thin

So the material feels flimsy, at least the zippers. It's no problem that you quickly discover that a little abuse can ruin everything. The flash can be attached through the bottom zipper and attached to the flash like an umbrella which is not long enough so your freedom of movement is restricted by the length of the zipper going to the neck of the tripod. Instead, I'd consider Bowman's Octabox type next time. However, the velcro is of good quality and works and does its job. Don't get me wrong,

Pros
  • Sturdy build
Cons
  • Appearance

Such a simple softbox. Good size and reflected flash really removes any hotspots in your photos. I only used mine last weekend for some fill light on backlit (setting sun) shots. It worked great. Very happy with the performance so far. I've worked with one before on another shoot. This is a bit small for full body coverage in a limited space. We didn't really have room to place the lights far enough in the room we were filming. A problem for all but the largest softboxes, so not a huge hit…

Pros

Extremely useful, well made

I can only share my experience with this softbox/reflector. Other reviewers may differ! I've used it several times so far and it's been great. The quality of the softbox is very good - durable, thick material. When opening, be sure to press the tip against the bottom until it clicks into place. The slot fits easily into my recently purchased Godox S-type flash mount (love this item!). As others have said you can't tilt it much, but I mostly shoot outdoor portraits and the angle of the softbox…

Durable umbrella. More parabolic than I expected.

When used correctly, everything worked great! lol I initially set my flash to go through and was like "that sucks". Once I realized my mistake, things improved dramatically. haha! Very strong. More parabolic than I expected. Cons: The velcro on the pocket (not the umbrella) was half torn when I first opened it on the left side. I have to remember to open it from the right side until I can secure it. Luckily his bag didn't break. Also, it is difficult to fit the diffuser in a bag along with an…

Great value for money Octobox

This mod is for those who have photo strobes, continuous CFLs or LED lights on video stands and want to create a softer option. soft light, easy to assemble. Flexibility with different types of permanent lamps. The build quality is good. Disadvantages: Limited tilting ability due to the light stand running underneath. The umbrella stand can be a few centimeters longer. In my application I used it with a set of large corn cob light bulbs (equivalent to 500W) for video recording. Since corncobs…

Good price, good entry into softbox lighting

Good price, good entry into softbox lighting. It mounts like an umbrella, with a zipper that fits around the stand. Combine this with a strobe and an umbrella stand and you have more control over your lighting. Build quality is decent. I've been using it for almost a year, I've used it about 25 times. The storage bag is a bit torn and there are a few threads hanging from the shade. For those who use it constantly, I can see where it won't last. Why would you expect it at this price…
