This is a good desktop phone stand for recording videos from your phone. The spring-loaded phone grip is difficult to stretch, but it ensures your phone doesn't fall into what you're creating.

My wife uses this to record social media videos on her phone. This stand performed the best we've tried in our price range (under $40). Very easy to set up. The legs aren't very strong, but as long as you're not shooting videos or photos where you might have an issue with kickstand or leg collisions, you're fine.

I bought this because I wanted to be able to record overhead when I lift my glider and take a video with my phone. As you can see from the photo, some adjustments are needed. Using it as is I can't fit my entire open plan (notebook size) in the frame because the phone doesn't sit high enough. To solve this problem, I propped it up with a laminating box, which raised it an additional 4 inches. At this point my planner was in the frame but the legs of the stand were hanging off the laminating box
