Important when buying as a school uniform - dark blue color is very purple. Luckily our school isn't too picky, but it still worries me in general. It's thinner than I expected and looks too silky. But it's long enough and the pockets are amazing. An extra star for meeting these two basic requirements for girls dresses! Dresses are adorable, cute, and fun, but the length and pockets make them useful and functional.

My daughter wore two versions of this dress. She was in The Outsiders and she needed a 50's school girl dress. She wore it every day for two weeks and never complained. The dress has withstood the hard use well. She also wore a black version as her Wednesday Addams costume. In fact, buying this well-tailored, reusable dress was CHEAPER than buying a suit in a bag. My daughter is sensitive to stitching and scratchy fabric but she had no complaints at all about this dress. MOTHER VICTORY!

The dress is cute, I have it in purple, a very nice shade. My daughter normally wears a size 5 but I went for a size 6-7 just in case and she definitely has room to grow so I would say true to size. The material is tacky and may not look great on all body types but should fit most little girls. ETA: After the first wash (I washed it myself, in cold water) the color of the dress has stained the white collar so that it is no longer pure white but a very faint shade of purple.
