I had to put a red tag on my two straps that I bought.

I bought two of these and both didn't work. One of them failed a safety check on a work tool because the harness was worn out, so we only used it for a week. Another failed about two weeks later when he refused to be withdrawn. waste of money. I'm glad one of my men didn't actually fall off the scaffolding relying on it. I had to mark both with a red spot.

Pros
  • Meets or exceeds all applicable industry standards including OSHA and ANSI
Cons
  • Other interesting options are available.

Plenty of room to work

We are a small subsidiary of Habitat for Humanity that builds our own trusses and roof. We needed personal fall protection and loved the idea of a retractable lanyard. Our roof is only 5 slopes We were concerned that the 11' would be enough for the job so we used it in combination with a non-padded hand rope handle on a 25' rope Most of the time we only use 5-10' of rope This gave us the freedom to work while also being very comfortable at the edge.We have used them on the same roof with two…

Pros
  • 11' 1" Nylon Mesh
Cons
  • Crumpled

Another great product from Guardian

Another great product from Guardian. Ideal for fall prevention, has a built in shock absorber should fall protection be required. However, do not use it on roofs, it is not designed for horizontal use and the fabric strap (part of the lanyard) is not designed for use with a leading edge (wear and tear on the sharp edges can cut the strap). It is an excellent self-retracting lifebuoy, requiring in most cases an anchor point to be carried overhead. Stops you less than 2ft when it detects a fall…

Pros
  • Reliable performance. Operating weight range: 130-310 lbs
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
