The thing is heavy. Sometimes I just adjust the height completely and use it to hold the phone over the board I'm working on to zoom in with the phone's camera. Works perfectly.
This looks expensive but actually holds the board in place without damaging it. When soldering or desoldering, the pressure on the board still doesn't tip over, while the others I've used don't withstand any pressure. Height adjustment is good and even at the highest settings there is no feeling of instability.
great! One small thing I'd like to change on another version of this little vise: some kind of foot so it doesn't slip or move. The outer cylinder is anything that touches the table/work surface when the inner vise is up. This prevents a lot of friction on the work surface and in some cases can cause the vise to slip. All in all a great helper
