Bought for elementary school age daughters to wear to gym class. One size up to make up for the short length, but still too short for school use.

We needed spandex shorts (harem pants) under the cheerleader skirt. It wasn't spandex but a polyester blend (maybe). We sent them back immediately as they weren't what we needed. We had no debt to them.

I would take one size bigger. These barely fit my daughter. You are too short. They are only used at home as pajama shorts. Fit aside, these are good shorts!

I have a little 8 year old girl who needs volleyball shorts. She weighs around 50 pounds but usually wears shorts and cropped pants quite comfortably. After reading reviews saying they are big, I bought the XS shorts for volleyball games. They fit almost perfectly. They are snug throughout, just like volleyball shorts should be, except there is some room at the bottom of the legs, but nothing too flashy or weird. Although these shorts appear to be of decent quality for the price, the size chart is completely wrong. I referred to this when purchasing for my daughters and measured both to ensure I ordered the correct size. When they arrived they were much larger than the size chart. This is a general size chart, not related to any specific product. Both of my daughters are 27 inch waists, but a large (maybe even medium) would be a much better choice. These shorts wouldn't even fit on my girls.

I bought these for my daughter to wear under her premium uniform dress. She's on the spectrum and also not so good with tight clothes at the moment and biker shorts that should be worn under skirts and dresses that she used to wear with ease, now she refuses.
