HD vs *popular skateboard shoe brand*

I bought these shoes for my son. He's a big kid. Height over 6 feet at 16, quite tall with very flat feet and a curved spine with wedge-shaped vertebrae. With all this, he has a hard time finding comfortable shoes to skate in. He mainly rides longboards. The shoes I wore as a kid, skating, *wrenching, on a road trip* and so on, are still expensive. $80+ per pair for lower models and they still need a "break-in" period. The first day of these HD sneakers was great! You can't go back to old shoes

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Expandable

Great budget alternative to Vans or Etnies

I've noticed a dramatic drop in quality control on the above brands as well as a disproportionate increase in retail price. These are quality shoes with no frills. I wasn't a fan of tall boots, couldn't find a men's version without a cuff, so I had to redo mine to get the style I wanted. A very simple, no-frills looking skateboard shoe, especially after removing the easy-to-cut labels and stickers. You can't go wrong with this for the money.

  • Cool

These are definitely shoes. For legs.

I bought these shoes to ride a mountain board. My cycling shoes were too stiff and most skate boots didn't look like they would fit my bindings. This shoe isn't bulky like many other skateboard shoes, but it does have some cushioning. The footbox has enough padding to offer some protection from impact but is still very flexible. The shoe rises slightly to the ankle, which is my favorite design feature. This part (above the ankle) has more padding than the rest of the shoe and provides more…

NO motorcycle shoes

I guess it's my fault for assuming that if there was a Harley-Davidson brand on it, it was made for riding a damn bike! nope Not at all. Super thin canvas, no protection. Judging by the photos, it even has ankle protection, but that's just for show. Super thick cotton filling. There is definitely no protection if you drop your bike. But even compared to ordinary shoes, the quality is just terrible. Super thin outsole. No support. The insoles look very strange. Everything about this shoe is bad.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Doesn't fit all

Just grab some mid top vans

It comes with one of the holes if it has it. It was wrapped in a drawstring so someone would know someone had messed it up before giving it to me. I'm sure the seller would have replaced it which is why I didn't return it. Everything was in order. I recommend just getting a pair of mid-size Vans sneakers. These shoes probably offer 15% more ankle protection with slightly thicker foam on the ankles, but that's negligible. The shoe's outsole has an odd attempt at a comfortable outsole that…

So far so good.: Trendy sneakers

Slightly larger than expected but I usually buy brands that run small. The insoles have an odd texture that was unexpected but I liked it. They are light and comfortable, I hope they last a long time. I wear them to work (mechanic) during the summer months so they get spanked, but I average about 4-6 months per pair. They're already dirty and won't clean after a short while, but that's to be expected given they're gray and get covered in car fluids from time to time. It is no problem for me. I…

  • Not trendy
