This is my third attempt at a pen which should be heavier, thicker and longer than the others. This meets all my criteria. The weight and length make it easy to hold, maneuver and attach to the skin for an easier, closer shave than other grips. for shaving. Build quality is excellent, although some other reviews complain about the plastic tip-to-blade connection. The construction is excellent. I highly recommend this pen!

1) NOT all metal. The part that grips the blade module is cheap plastic. 2) After about three months, the cheap plastic leaf grip fell out of the metal socket. It's plastic that won't stick to superglue, which is why I eventually gave up trying to fix it. Now I use pliers to change the blades. 3) The metal handle consists of three separate parts. The two parts are simply glued together so that it falls apart in my hand about once a week as the two parts slowly unravel. All in all, overpriced…

I love shaving with a DE safety razor, but I often don't have time for the three strokes needed for a close shave. That's where my Mach 3 helps to save time. The disadvantage of a cartridge razor is that you have to push harder to get a close shave due to the razor's light weight. This leads to problems with razor burn. This pen fixes that. I've been shaving daily for over 40 years now (moderately thick beard and also shave my head) and have been using Mach 3 blades and Gillette 10 handles for probably the last few days -15. When I received a replacement for my travel set (the spring hinge at the top was worn out) the new stock grip felt very light and flimsy. The handle itself appears to be very nice and strong, although I don't quite understand why it's in three pieces. It seems completely unnecessary. However, I only opened the box about two minutes ago, and once I took the blade out, the cheap, flimsy plastic that holds the blade to the handle has already come loose. It took me a few minutes with pliers to separate the head from the blade. It looks like superglue will make this problem a little easier, but oh well. I would expect that from a $5…
