Unscrew the cap and everything works fine.

Direct replacement for my broken plastic air vent. Was a little worried about breaking the plastic pins the damper spins on, but was able to easily undo the screws on the outer vent cover and open it up a bit so the damper just fell inwards. Do not attempt to simply bend the damper to insert the pins. . Unhook the lid!

Works as it should, with an extra installation step

Many reviews say the advice on this issue failed during installation, so I decided to follow the advice of another post. I put some pieces of electrical tape on the cover to more reliably connect it to the van's body. Just make sure you leave enough "allowance" so that it doesn't obstruct the flap opening when the fan is on. Don't glue it, just help support those little plastic tips a bit. Driven more than 2000 km normally.

Just take your time and don't insist on hard work on them. I used a knife to gently peel them off. When you install it, bend the vent a bit and insert the tabs on both ends. Then relax the bow and the tabs will snap into place. When you snap one of the tabs. There is a video on YouTube about what needed to be fixed and…

Be careful with the fragile flap

This flap comes with my camper hood. I broke off the small pivot pins while cleaning. This damper is lightweight and has small pins on the ends for pivoting. If it is made heavier it may not work well with a small exhaust fan. To install it I had to remove the outer vent cover to reduce the risk of breaking the pins again. It seemed a little pricey for a thin, brittle plastic molding, but it fit perfectly and worked very well. The damper was sent in a small bubble envelope. I was surprised that
