Optimized Hermitshell EVA Protective Case for Lightweight Rode VideoMic GO On-Camera Microphone Review

Would like a slightly larger case that could also accommodate a windscreen. Overall, a mid-range $100 mic protector is worth investing in.

I bought this because the seller said it fits the VideoMic Pro. It does not fit. The product is not to blame. The seller is to blame for incorrect answers.

It sucks. It does fit the Rode Video Mic Go, but the mesh rubs against all devices. It's a tight fit, but it works. The outside dimensions seem bulky, so narrow is the interior. It also has an unpleasant chemical smell.

It's a nice little case, but it's tiny and doesn't fit in any way with the rather large video mic that's supposed to fit. There may be another case in the photo that was sent to me, but the one I received will never have a video mic in it!

I'm glad I found this case! I had to keep my Rode Mic in the box it was originally packaged in so I could carry it in my bag. This little bag offers great protection, makes packing and unpacking the microphone a lot easier (instead of a box) and frees up a lot of space. That's great! would recommend.

I made this purchase a few years ago and have never looked back. Simply put, it does the job it's advertised to do. The case is light but thick and strong enough to protect the contents. My Rode mic fits snugly in the bottom of the case and the audio cable fits in the pocket at the top of the case. I recommend this case.

If you're advertising it's the right size for something, make sure it fits with a little more room, not less than you need. I mean it fits, but I know it puts pressure on the mic boom. This case fits the Video Mic Go snugly but the case doesn't offer enough protection in my opinion. The material is quite flexible being EVA so it's hard to call it hard. The bag has room for an extra mic cable and I can easily fit it in my travel camera bag, but in my everyday camera bag I have to move things around before it fits. In that case you can't keep other windshields for this mic while the mic is in it, I mean you can but you have to put it in there and push while zipping up.
