This vise is beautifully machined and precision ground. Checked mine for parallelism, everything works. Landings are comfortable and tight. The edges might be a bit broken as they are very sharp when delivered. The screw can easily back out too far, causing the jaw to come loose. It can be quite tricky trying to connect it together without removing the vise. A small problem, but you must be careful to loosen the vise. I might change the design of this mount a bit to either avoid over-extracting

My wife bought me a 3 inch vise as a gift. no previous experience what to expect from it. I've had two of these now and as much as I want to say otherwise I can't recommend it due to serious quality control issues. The first one I received had a .009" gap on one end when closed and is missing the set screw that holds the horizontal pin at the bottom of the jam nut.
