Description of 🐋 HIC Floatin’ Whale Loose Leaf Tea Infuser with Drip Catcher

HIC’s Floating Whale Tea Infuser goes into mugs and tea cups for steeping loose tea with a more robust aroma and flavor. Made from 18/8 stainless steel; reusable; more economical than using store-bought tea bags. Easy to use; fill halfway with coarse tea leaves and float in hot water, steep 3-minutes to release tea’s essential oils for full flavor. Great for kids and adults; steep black tea, oolong tea, green tea, chai, chamomile and other types of tea. Easy to fill, empty and clean; compact for easy storage

Cute but poorly made

It's really sweet. I love the sight of a swimming whale in my mug. Unfortunately it only lasted 3 float uses. Liquid entered the whale when it should have been sealed. Now my whale is drowning in my cup. It's impossible to open the whale without breaking it, so I can't clean it. That means germs, fungi, bacteria and all those nasty things grow inside and render it useless.

Pros
  • Easy to use; Fill halfway with coarse tea leaves and steep in hot water, steeping for 3 minutes to release the tea's essential oils for full flavor
Cons
  • So far, so good

So adorable! and (almost) perfect

I've been using this lovely whale tea infuser for a couple of weeks now and it's great. The little whale will swim in my cup until I'm done brewing, and then he'll sit in his little holder when I'm done. The only complaint I have is that there is a tiny hole in the seam between the belly and the top and the water gets in very slowly and will eventually drown the whale. I'm trying to find ways to seal the seam that are still food safe.

Pros
  • Easy to fill, empty and clean; compact for easy storage
Cons
  • I will add later

Slow Sinker: Tea Set

I really like this whale tea diffuser but it has one major downside. The blue and white parts of the board are separate pieces of plastic that are glued or fused together. Unfortunately, with this particular diffuser, there isn't a complete seal around the perimeter, so my kit picks up water. Every time I use it, it sinks a little more. Eventually this whale becomes a diver instead of a swimmer. Also, I'm worried about what kind of debris might be growing inside as water is getting in but not…

Pros
  • Made of 18/8 stainless steel; reusable; more economical than store bought tea bags
Cons
  • Available in white only

Kettle Very Happy

This teapot is exactly what I was hoping for! The floating style makes for a very good brew as long as you don't overdo it. In addition, the mesh is very thin, which allows you to minimize the remains of tea leaves. The way the basket unscrews from the floating whale also makes cleaning easier. However, don't be afraid to twist it too tight to close the tea ball. When I first used it, I didn't realize that I didn't fully fasten the basket and it fell into the tea water :( . I was twist it…

Pros
  • Excellent for children and adults; brewed black tea, oolong, green tea, tea, chamomile and other teas
Cons
  • Appearance
