Utilising a new, hi-tech diaphragm means that the diaphragm is 80% thinner than was on the previous series. This results in more detail, faster transients and an extended frequency response. New headband design offering a separate head strap which allows for the headphone weight to be spread perfectly evenly over the wearers head. It delivers both a more comfortable fit but also a more eye pleasing look. The all new Headband gives a structure intended to be as practically street friendly, built to take the wear and tear of everyday life while looking great as it does it. The Headphone cable attachment uses the standard 3.5mm socket which gives improved connectivity and is more physically robust connector too. This latest version of SUNDARA now is supplied with newly improved earpads for enhanced durability and a newly upgraded cable made with stronger, further improved materials (of OFC wire) custom designed for the headphone.

Extremely clear sound for music and gaming

As mentioned in the title I bought this for occasional music listening (very regular now due to all the quarantine) and gaming. In CS and Overwatch I can finally hear footsteps properly and know exactly where they're coming from! Before that I've been using HD 598's for the last 3 years and while they're still great they're far from the best. the sound quality of these headphones. I will continue to use the HD 598 for work as they are closed. Before I bought this I tried the Beyerdynamicsโ€ฆ

These headphones are damn good.

I don't have as many headphones as others, and certainly nothing outrageously high quality. I love listening to music as does most of my 59 yrs. I am very happy with my choice and I believe that each pair meets certain requirements for me. Over the years I've heard of quality control issues with HiFiMan, but I'm happy to report that I don't see anything here that bothers me. The build is great, except maybe for the black powder coat finish, but I can handle it with ease. The standard cable isโ€ฆ

Headphones I've been looking for my whole life

I think I found the endgame headphones. Firstly, I can confirm that they have new ear pads and a new sound signature. I have Sennheiser HD650, Beyerdynamics, AKG, Phillips and many more. The Sennheiser veil is real to me, and as good as they are, I always get excited when I hear my Sennheisers. Beyers is too hissing. My AKGs are very neutral and I appreciate them for that. My Phillips are fun but lack the speed I'm looking for and can sound crisp in the highs and mids. These Sundara are theโ€ฆ

Unparalleled Sound Quality, Worrying Quality Control and Durability

The HIFIMAN Sundara stands out as one of the best value headphones under $500 and I think that's absolutely true in terms of sound quality. You won't find any planar headphones, or headphones in general, that can bring such authoritative engineering and elegant and lively musicality under the table for such a (relatively) low price. Let's talk about sound. Its highs and lows are very well extended and have the same fast and crisp flatness. I can see that the high frequencies can be a bit tooโ€ฆ
