The HIGH & MIGHTY 515618 decorative floating shelf I ordered came completely broken - and I'm glad about that, because I think it's scrap. I ordered a model with a beveled edge, and the sides or bevels are hollow and made of thin plastic that is glued to the shelf - this is chipboard. I am sending it back for a refund.

Installs in seconds. It did take a small hammer, but if you're a tough person you could probably get by with just your hands, but I'd always go for a hammer. Easy to raise and lower (minimal openings when removing), carry heavy weight with ease. This shelf has it all. I will never use another shelf again.

followed directions exactly. I bought three for simple pictures. One fell off during installation, so I was very careful from there. Completed the task and at night after a couple of hours I heard a crack. The shelves had fallen and the glass in the picture frames had shattered. Two shelves were also broken. Very disappointed and they come back.

Very easy to install. TIP: Hold the shelf (or the box it came in) against the wall first. I noticed that some sections of my wall weren't really flat and others were concave, making them unsuitable for shelf mounting and making installation difficult. Order one shelf at a time. I ordered three and two of them were broken on the beveled edges. This is probably not a problem for plain shaped shelves.

Fairly easy to apply but easier to remove. I was one of those guys who needed a hammer because without it it just wouldn't budge. When it's time to hang a real shelf. it could not even withstand the weight of my hand resting gently on it, but to no avail, and I tried many times. The product is also deceptive as it doesn't leave pin-sized holes! Returning the item and unfortunately repairing it to fill in the unsightly holes left by its absence.
