High quality ingredients, can be fed in cooler temperatures. I only feed this brand from mid-December to late February.

I have 12 koi in my pond and they eat it right away. I enjoy giving them quality food. It also comes in a large pouch which is very handy.

My pond fish are crazy about Hikari Wheatgrass! I've tried many different dishes and I keep coming back to Hikari. It's really worth the extra money.

I recommend this food for preparing koi for the winter season. I start feeding them in October and when the water stays below 50 degrees I stop feeding them. This helps prevent winter bloat, which can kill them.

In winter my pond fluctuates between 55 and 45 degrees. So I feed my koi twice a week when the temperature gets above 50 but only wheat germ based food so they can digest it. Hikari is the perfect winter food and the fish love it.

This food is great to brighten up my koi in winter. They all transition easily from Hikari Gold to this feed and digest this feed more easily than Gold for fall weather. Medium sized pellets are excellent for koi from 5 to 18 inches.

I like it more than my fish. They treat themselves to Hikari Gold all season long, and then when the weather gets cooler I wean them off food and prepare their stomachs for the winter by feeding them wheat germ. Then in the spring when the water gets warmer I start with wheat germ for a while before they get good results. They definitely prefer edibles to wheat germ, but as we all know, sometimes you need to eat what's good for you, not just what tastes good.
