🐶 Hill's Science Diet Adult Dry Dog Food, 1-6 years Review

My dog is not a fan of the new 2019 version. He ate it the first day and then left his food untouched for 2 days. It also gave him mild diarrhea. At first I thought they sent me the wrong look and no advanced fitness but I was wrong, this is just the 2019 version. It looks like a completely different pellet shape, texture etc. I love that they have opted for a reusable bag. I don't know why they changed the recipe that worked and was liked. Anything to save a dollar I guess.

My dogs love this food, the only downside I have to say is the shape of the packaging. The top of the pouch has what I would call folds so it doesn't spread all over the place when you pour it in. The problem is if you are older or have a bad back you won't be able to lift it to cast due to the weight. When I use about 3/4 of a bag I can take it out and put it in a dog food container. I have purchased many packages of this Hill Science Diet Adult Chicken Barley Rice dog food and my dog loved it. This time I bought the same dog food but they changed the recipe and I switched from fine to medium kibble. Only given 3 starts, not due to Revain but due to a possible manufacturing defect. I've been a subscriber for over a year and I'm saving. The last order I received was very small. This is for large breed dogs and the bites have always been great except for this last order. I contacted Amazon and they were very helpful and immediately placed another order. I have been buying this feed for many years. Intermediate fitness was great. It had good ingredients (so far) and the dogs loved it. The new recipe has an EXTREME smell. Both of my dogs graze and I've never had a problem leaving their food. It didn't have a strong smell. The whole house stank of the new one. I removed the food and it still smells. The picture shows the size of the parts next to the dime. It doesn't say "Small Pieces" anywhere on the bag. It's the same food I've used for years and it wasn't small pieces. I have been feeding my dog Science Diet Advanced Fitness food since we bought him a year and a half ago. She liked it and it seemed to do her good.
