Fire blanket, works great

Excellent for fixing insulation in Dampf Genny pressure washer. Also great for replacing insulation on Subaru exhaust manifolds that no longer rattle under these shields.

Pros
  • Everything great!
Cons
  • Factor Set

Not suitable for kilns and kiln accessories

I installed this insulation just over a year ago. I just tested this last week while cleaning my chimney and part of the insulation fell apart. This appears to have replaced the insulation that has been in place for 10 years. the same degree of degradation. Insulation that was not in pieces was brittle and fell apart.

Pros
  • finally bought
Cons
  • boring packaging

Super itchy stuff but it works great!

The name basically sums it up. This material is much worse than fiberglass insulation in terms of itching (the roll I received was very dusty, not sure if this is normal or not) but it works great. I used it to level my little forge and now I just use some of the charcoal/wood I had before to smelt the aluminum and copper. As he said, it's an amazing insulator.

Pros
  • Does not react with moisture (unlike mineral wool and vermiculite)
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Great for insulating the firebox

I used this to seal my wood fireplace MAP gas burner (3000+ degrees Fahrenheit) after 5 minutes under the Burner the product was a little warm of course but not burned or charred at all!Great for any wood fire.

Pros
  • Size 31" x 24" x 1" with knife included
Cons
  • When in doubt

Added to a gas range where the original insulation above the oven and below the surface burners has been destroyed. This worked much better than the original, keeping the top of the stovetop cooler and the oven more even during cooking. A depth of 24 inches is ideal and only needs to be trimmed a little to the width. They contain a razor blade for cutting.

Pros
  • Superior high temperature insulator
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
