🔇 HMF 6946006 Quiet Core for Exhaust: Enhance Performance with Advanced Noise Reduction Review

Put this in the performance series on the yxz1000r and make it a lot quieter. In fact, you can talk while driving. It would be nice if hmf involved them in product purchases, but all to make money right?

Suitable for HMF QS and Titan XL. Make sure you add a spark arrestor shield to make up for the lack of space and make sure it doesn't rattle, it works great reducing the volume and turning the exhaust into a nice hum!

Mine is mounted on a 2014 Arctic Cat 1000 XT ATV. At 24 inches, the HMF pipe was 81 dB without a baffle. With the baffle it is 80 dB and still too loud. This is a fraudulent item and should be withdrawn from sale.

The part is too thin and doesn't fit snugly between the knee and the exhaust and it fell apart within minutes of starting. The welds holding it together are more like soldering. They're not made for the hot, vibrating exhaust of an ATV.

Makes a slight noise at high speeds but changes the tone the most. I ended up giving up mine because the higher pitched exhaust noise was less pleasing to my ears. Creates back pressure when you want it. Too bad I have duplicates because I only have 2 of them on the shelf now.

They say it rattles. You must use a spark arrestor. I tore off the screen and just used the ring. This will hold the core firmly in place so it doesn't rattle. This core cut the sound of my Renegade 500 in half. It raises the pitch a bit but stays low and mean. I hear my thoughts again

Bought a performance kit. Includes HMF exhaust, K&M filter and HMF fuel optimizer. My new HMF exhaust for my 4 wheeler was too loud so I ordered it. I removed the end cap as instructed and installed this core and my spark arrestor. The core entered the machined groove, which was obviously intended for this core. Without a spark arrestor, I would imagine the core could chatter. But the instructions clearly indicate the correct installation. Screws tightened and off we went. Now it hums nicely…
