I haven't checked their thickness but I think they are too thin for normal use. I just received my coaster set and after sipping a glass of iced tea on the coaster for about 2 hours I noticed that the condensation had soaked into the felt (which it should) but it was completely into the surface penetrated my table. For those looking for felt coasters, look for something of a better quality.

Well I gave it 4 stars because they look beautiful in their case, they are so easy to clean and best of all they WON'T scratch my refill! That alone is worth it!
