🏞️ Protective Water Resistant Housing for Ricoh Theta SC2, V, M15 & Samsung Gear 360 2017: HOLACA Waterproof Case Review

Not used yet but looks as advertised. It doesn't appear to have a waterproof seal so I wouldn't recommend submerging it in water but other than that it looks great. When used with the Gear 360 it feels a little big, but the Gear 360 isn't the primary target audience.

This protects your device, but the rounded top causes yellow artifacts. Most people don't care too much about the top of the picture. So if they care more about protecting your device, this might be the way to go.

No leaks The case works great but the seams in the camera are not designed for underwater shooting through the case so the seams get weird at times 25ft when diving with a shark hammer. I set the camera to a 10 second interval and a few shots turned out great!

Insta360 One X fits and is splash proof. But I'm not sure I want to submerge it in water to test its water resistance. Internal reflections at the top of a spherical image can render it unusable. The internal reflections of the status indicators make this unusable for me in other circumstances.

Works well with Theta V. I haven't noticed any distortion due to the plastic dome. Protects well from rain or drizzle, but is not waterproof. A nice perk is that it places a clean black circle at the bottom of the image where you'd normally see distorted tripod or monopod legs. I use it for every indoor and outdoor shoot.

The Samsung Gear 360 fits with some wiggle room. There's a bit of glare in the sun, but overall the picture is clear. The plastic housing is very clear and of high quality. I'm still trying to make it fully waterproof. All you need is an o-ring and/or some silicone grease. Shouldn't be too difficult to do. I am happy with my purchase.

I'm annoyed that I now see that the product is only supposed to be waterproof, despite the wording "Waterproof Case" in the title. I have no doubt I can get through the o-ring and some lube to make it work, but for $20 it's a little disappointing; especially since a small mark was left on the top during the manufacturing process (see picture). So don't expect to only get 360-degree shots. In general everything is fine; just not as good as I had hoped.

I bought this to protect my Ricoh Theta SC when I'm out and about when the weather changes and it starts to rain or use it , while I'm by the pool at the resort or by the water. I bought it to use as expected to be waterproof/splashproof not waterproof and it serves its purpose. As I expected, there is a slight drop in image quality, but it's very minor. It holds the camera very securely and I love the fact that it has a tripod socket on the bottom which I use all the time. I would be careful…
