In general the lights work great. I didn't read the description and preferred rechargeable lamps but they sent us extra batteries (plus) which we don't need yet.

This is great for my child who loves to read in the car and at night. As a driver - the light does not distract at night. I like that there are 2 settings - low light is pretty bright. Just wish it was in more boyish colors.
