Bought at target and returning it tomorrow

Advertised as the compact travel version that fits in normal switch cases it doesn’t. Size wise its to small to be comfortable for me. And the joysticks feel as though their is no resistance at all so finer controlled aiming or movement isn’t possible. The joysticks are concaved and are more comfortable to use but again feel almost detached or floating from the rest of the controller.

Pros
  • I love the design and the texture in the knobs
Cons
  • This joy cion feeling is not better than original joy coin. It's not achieve my respectation

Its better than the oem joy con but not that comfortable.

I think my hands are just big, I got both the hori split pad pro and this one. This one just feels like a extension of the oem joycons. They are better than those, but still not that comfortable for long gaming sessions. The joysticks are an improvement over the split pad pro but thats it. The back feels very cheap and it looks like its 3d printed. The button's feels good though. All in all, if you are spending this much to get something comfortable, I would still pick the split pad pro.

Pros
  • Accessories
Cons
  • The HORI Split Pad Compact is only compatible with the Nintendo Switch console, limiting its usefulness for users who own other gaming systems

Overall, pretty happy!

Much better than the original joy cons, much more comfortable to hold. The joysticks are better and I feel like have more control. The extra buttons are cool. I don’t like that I can’t use them off of the switch, and I don’t like the weird notches in the back but overall super happy! I play my switch so much more, the regular joy cons would hurt my hands.

Pros
  • I have fairly small hands and they feel comfortable
Cons
  • The HORI Split Pad Compact's ergonomic design may not suit everyone. Some users may find it difficult to get used to the new layout and button placement

joystick drift in under a week

terrible, in under a week from purchase (and i don't even play that much!) the left joystick started drifting! would not recommend this product at all. now i have to go to all this trouble driving a few towns over to return the junk.

Pros
  • NSW-700U
Cons
  • Although officially licensed by Nintendo, the HORI Split Pad Compact does not offer any notable additional features or functionality that sets it apart from other third-party handheld controllers

Better than Nintendo, but could be better

Overall, these are wayyyy better than Nintendo Joy-cons in terms of comfort and feel. The buttons are much nicer (except the d-pad which kind of sucks), the analog sticks are made for people with normal sized hands, and the triggers can actually be pulled. The only real con here is the price vs the lack of features. Without rumble (if you care about that) and not being wireless you would expect them to be a little cheaper. They do add turbo buttons and rear triggers than can be remapped, but…

Pros
  • December 6, 2022
Cons
  • Although the split design may allow for more comfortable grip, it may also be less stable than traditional handheld controllers, especially during intense gaming sessions

Not very ergonomic surprisingly

I have the original hori split pad pro and I figured these would be a similar experience, but only after a short session with them I can say they don’t bring much in terms of comfort. It could be that my hands are too big for them, but I was sad to immediately want to return to my og split pads.I’m even more disappointed because the sticks are miles better than the OG split pad and the buttons all feel great. The back buttons are also in a better position. All in all - YMMV. These might be better

Pros
  • Pro controller experience in Handheld Mode
Cons
  • Some users may find the buttons and triggers to be too sensitive or too stiff, requiring them to adjust their play style accordingly

NOT a solution to Joy con drift

These drift as bad as regular joy cons. Was hoping for a controller that fit my hand better and didn't drift but these are incredibly frustrating

Pros
  • Light Gray and Yellow design
Cons
  • The HORI Split Pad Compact is relatively expensive compared to other handheld controllers on the market, making it more of a luxury purchase for some users
