We just finished an 8.8 lb bag (was in Purina puppy food) and I noticed my puppy has a nice coat. He is gaining weight and has a lot of energy. His loose stools have stopped and he is finally having normal stools again. The food smells really good. I used to throw up every time I smelled a different puppy food. It's expensive but definitely worth it.

I think it's appropriate to post a review on this product. This dog food was highly rated by the dog food consultant as it is mainly meat based. Many, many dog foods are plant-based. "Meat-based" means that the main ingredients affecting protein analysis are derived from meat. Read the dog food label. "Meat" does not include offal. The best dog food does not contain meat by-products, which by definition can include nutrient organs, but also the "things" that are left over from eating good meat.

I have a 6 month old Australian Cattle Dog/Siberian Husky mix who is very energetic, eats (and runs) a lot and is my first puppy in about 14 years. I thought dog food had come a long way (and the internet too) since I last hunted, and I've been following and trying down the rabbit hole of dog food research over morning (and sometimes afternoon) coffee for two weeks to find the best possible. That's it. Medium sized dogs of the ACD breed should have at least 30% protein in their diet, 15% fat is
