Worked best with USB sticks

I bought this to replace another 256GB drive that shut down after loading 70GB. This worked great. I just plugged it in and downloaded all the 220GB requested with no issues. I recommend this one.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Not the best

Slowly, slowly, slowly in the data warehouse

Of course I have 128GB but wow this USB stick can go from 3MB/s to 0MB/s in 3 seconds. What I mean is that the full drop in speed lasts for a few minutes before picking up but then drops off again. Too busy to return. I should have gone with a Voyager that I bought many years ago and it still runs at the same FAST speed. Don't buy this, other positive reviews are suspicious.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Hard to remember but it was

Periodically zero bytes/s write rate

The one I received and the one pictured above do not match. Mine reads "JG256Sx900w" and has dots as another reviewer mentioned. When copying large files around 2 GB in size, the process was interrupted at certain intervals. Transition from 70 MB/s to 0 KB/s. See photocopy files. I ran the same test with an old Samsung USB 3 stick and the results were normal (no breaks).

Pros
  • regular price
Cons
  • zero

Excellent high capacity flash drive

Unlike high capacity flash drives from other cheaper brands, they really work when copying large folders. Others I've bought online fail when copying a large folder over 5GB. I've copied folders up to 252GB in size and copied and read them with no errors. The rest from China fails every time. They were also reasonably priced, so I highly recommend this brand.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Very expensive

Great 256GB piece of junk

Bought two and neither worked properly. Data can be written as on USB 3.0, but as the capacity increases, the writing speed on USB 1 drops. One of them can read from a USB 2 port at a decent speed, but corrupts data when data is read from a USB 3.0 port . The other, no matter which USB port is used, keeps dropping when reading large amounts of data, so I can't use it for long files or steady data transfers. Too bad HP puts its name on things like this.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • No mold required

Works as described at a great price.

I bought 4 of these 128GB sticks from HP. I've tested each one over and over again using 4k movies and Crystal Disk testing software. They have all done excellent work. One thing I ran into is that in the first Crystal Disk test I was only able to get 42/38 reads and writes until I restarted my laptop (MSI GT83VR). After a reboot, the next 12 tests showed about 150/100 (see attached image). In comparison, the Samsung 128GB 3.0 also scored 150/100. At $15, the name brand just can't be beat.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Almost never

It may be expensive, but it works!

I bought this stick out of desperation. An earlier model from another company that was maybe ten dollars cheaper corrupted a lot of the data stored in it, but I had to transfer a lot of data between PCs. That's how I came across this model. HP has failed in the past, some of the HP laptops I bought a long time ago had overheating issues but hey, if you're desperate you'll try anything. I have absolutely no regrets. This flash drive is amazing. USB 3.0 speeds may no longer be a unique selling…

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Hard to say

Says 256GB. There is only 22.4GB of free space. WHAT?

I bought this flash drive to backup my large family tree so I can install it on another computer. The tree is big and I was sure that 256GB would be enough for the tree and many other things like photos. Well, don't go. Couldn't figure out why! The plate has never been used. The tree would be the first object to land on it. I decided to check the disk properties. WHAT? Total 22.4 GB of free space (no files on it). So what I actually received was a much smaller disc compared to what I ordered…

Pros
  • Quick Change
Cons
  • Updates

Your results WILL change over time

I've bought 6 of these discs now. One had to be returned as it had terrible writing speed and just stopped working a few hours after first use. The rest had problems. Some of them worked very well for a while, and then the writing speed became really unacceptable. As it peaks at about 50MB for about 3 seconds and then drops to 355KB for about 20 seconds and then to 0KB before brief periods of being able to write. Context: I use them to clone images. I write to them once and then read large…
