Always buy in bulk. The cartridge shows 40% remaining but the toner looks faded on the pages like it's empty. Posted on 12/19/2018, more than 5,000 pages should remain. It may not be a high-capacity cartridge as advertised, or there may be a problem with it. Too expensive not to pay attention to the lack of sides.

HP toner works in HP printers. I don't think it's worth messing around with third party toners or refills. (Your mileage may vary.) I was particularly pleased to find that the toner comes with the option to return an empty cartridge for recycling in prepaid shipping packaging. Of course, that means I have to keep the box for 9 years until I've used up the cartridge, but that's a minor inconvenience.

I understand that buying genuine HP cartridges is more expensive than buying fake ones, but in all the years I've been using HP printers I've never had a problem with the cartridges. Being in business, that alone is worth any extra cost. That extra 55x capacity gets me over 12,000 pages, and since it costs less money than buying two 6,000-page cartridges, it's going to be a pretty good deal. The ink quality is razor sharp, there are no paper jams and the printer works as it should.

Ordered for my laser printer. One of them showed up as "used" on my laser printer. it has just over 6000 which is not what it should be. I think he should have around 12,000 sheets to print. I did everything I could, scanned the QR code with the HP app to see if it was fake or not and in the end I knew it was a genuine product. I really don't know what to do with this. I have reported this to HP but not entirely sure if they will send me a replacement. I'm very concerned about this issue…

Update: cartridge works fine, touch mechanism that tells you how many pages you have, full FUBAR. I get a little more than the advertised 12,500 printed pages. But you can't rely on a little dialog box telling you exactly how many pages are left. If the cartridge is in the process of being installed, it reports that there are only 125 pages left.
