I was very impressed with the HP f50 LCD monitor. I nearly discouraged my customer from even buying an LCD monitor when we stumbled across HP's f50 desktop system. Text and graphics looked crisp and color reproduction was excellent. First, make sure you set the maximum resolution when you bring your monitor home.

My experience with this monitor is very different from the first post. I bought an HP Pavilion 743c about a week ago that came with an F50 LCD monitor. Resolution and color are sharp and pleasing to the eye. I am very happy with it. I have looked at other LCD monitors such as the current 17 inch Gateway monitor and it is noticeably less sharp and I would describe it as fuzzy. Another quality of this monitor is its dual analog and digital (DVI) input capabilities.

I bought this monitor to use with an 'old' W98 PC and it works great! It was a bit blurry at first, but I ran the f50.exe setup program, then pressed the "Auto Setup" button on the monitor, and now everything is perfect! I would buy another!

NO, but that! Almost two years ago I bought an HP home PC with an F50 monitor. The monitor itself has excellent clarity and color reproduction, as well as good aesthetic quality. The problem is that the horizontal strip of pixels burned out about 1.5 years after purchase. So basically I have a horizontal black line running down the center of my monitor. When I called HP support they said my monitor needed to be replaced. I find this unacceptable after only a year and a half of use.

I've had this monitor since 2005 and it has never let me down or lost its original luster. It's gotten me through 3 computers and still works wonders. BUT. Remember I'm not a hardcore gamer. An adapter is required to connect to a new GPU/graphics card. It uses the old VGA connector. I don't know how it will work with GeForce 760 or higher. For everyday use? Ideally.

I don't have this monitor myself, but I used it at a friend's house for a while. When I first used it I didn't think it was a flat panel as it wasn't brighter or sharper than any other monitor.
