Pleasantly surprised

Bought this because it is a no brainer price to have a test. Performs much better than I would have imagined. I put an SMA to BNC adapter on my Anytone 868 because every time I connect / disconnect an SMA I feel like I"m shortening the life of a radio. BNC feels much better, and I now use this, the stock antenna (converted to BNC), and a BNC connector on a mag mounted antenna in one of my cars. This antenna hears things that the stock Anytone antenna doesn't, and the stock one is generally…

Pros
  • seems good as diamond
Cons
  • Some Chinese radio products are good. This is not one of them. It's a good dummy load though.

High SWR, not the best RX or TX either one

Seems a quality made product, but SWR tests super high (4:1). Skip this one and get something else. It is cheap, but not good RX or TX with this antenna. Little difference between this and the stock Baofeng rubber ducky

Pros
  • antenna better than one that came with radio
Cons
  • Limited range in urban environments where tall buildings obstruct signals

A good antenna on my review.

After finding that my calibration on my nano vna was off, I must revisit this review. When properly calibrated, I find that the SWR on this antenna is quite reasonable. SWR is just less than 2 on the VHF side, but very low (less than 1.2 on 440) on the UHF side. Compared to a handful of other antennas, I find that it has the lowest SWR on UHF than any of them.It seems that this antenna does make a difference on the UHF side, at least on DMR. VHF doesn't seem to be quite as strong though.I will…

Pros
  • Works awesome
Cons
  • Limited compatibility with external amplifiers or signal boosters

CB antenna best in my review

It’s a very nice product. I use it for my CB antenna. 1 flaw the rubber that protects the paint on car/truck is coming off after a month of use.

Pros
  • Works as expected on my Icom V8 handi talkie.
Cons
  • Difficult installation process that requires technical knowledge

Great product for a great price!

I bought an authentic negoya 771 and compared it side by side with these hys 771 antennas. I have no device for measuring except to put the antenna on and see what I can pull. I used them on a baofeng uv 82. They pulled reception almost equally but the negoya was just a hair stronger recieving a signal that was weak on both. They both seem equally as rugged, tho time will tell. The hys771 whip is thicker but plenty bendable. For now I'll use the hys771, and is a great deal at 3 antennas for…

Pros
  • I have a 75 watt radio and I can get 25 miles to a repeater on UHF. Very happy so far
Cons
  • Inefficient transmission that results in delayed or missed transmissions

Doesnt fit my BNC good for me

BNC Connection doesn't fit on my bearcat scanner when the description clearly stated it would. You would think that all BNC connections are the same, but apparently not

Pros
  • This is a must for uniden handheld. Doubled my range. Fit perfect.
Cons
  • Subpar reception quality compared to other antennas in the market

Waste of money. best in my review

This is not worth the time or money. The radios damaged original antenna is better. This is great as a pointer not as a antenna.

Pros
  • It's a pretty good antenna. I saw some substantial improvement when using it. Not amazing, but good.
Cons
  • This antenna has very bad reception

Works just fine best in my review

I replaced the stock "rubber ducky" on my old HTX-202 with this, and it is an improvement. Definitely taller, so there is a chance it will tickle your armpit, but definitely worth the swap.

Pros
  • Mount a UHF/vhf antennae on a 2017 C7 corvette
Cons
  • Limited warranty that doesn't cover common issues or damage

Good bang for the buck ! These are a little high in SWR for the Amateur 2 meter band, but for MURS and commercial in the 2 meter band, they will work great; here you are looking at usable resonance from 152 Mhz to 178 Mhz. There is some 1-1/4 meter band resonance but too low in resonant frequency for Amateur or commercial; from 200 Mhz to 215 Mhz! The Amateur 70 centimeter band is doable from 420 Mhz to 445 Mhz and maybe doable up to 450 Mhz. However FRS/GMRS frequencies have way too high an…

Pros
  • Works fine
Cons
  • Required manual tuning every time it's used

Nice little mount but.

Nice little clamp on mount. It does not make metal to metal contact so you may have to supply a ground to the vehicle. The clamp is covered with a soft rubber like plastic. Feels solid. It will work well with to move from car to carOne downfall. The adjustment nut blocks the area were the antenna cable attaches. I fixed by replacing with a flat head bolt.

Pros
  • Works great. Extended range by couple miles I think. Haven't got it out on the flats yet. Great price.
Cons
  • Unappealing appearance that doesn't blend in well with other equipment

Causes shortage. - my new review

When i installed the antenna the radio was making a funny noise so i decided to get it checked by a tech he concluded that the antenna caused a short in the radio.

Pros
  • Solid antenna SWRs are a little high.
Cons
  • Short range that limits its usefulness

Very happy. well made.I recommend

So far so good. I believe it has extended the range. It seems well made. I am very happy with the purchase at this point.I have a nub antenna that came with the original scanner.but I may buy a newer one from this company just to have it cause I do tend to misplace that little nub antenna at times.

Pros
  • ok
Cons
  • Expensive price point for a product that doesn't perform well
