Iams Proactive Hairball Chicken Packaging Review

In mid-2018 this product was reformulated from Chicken to Chicken, Turkey & Garden Vegetables. The cats did better on the old recipe than anything I've ever fed. The new recipe makes them sick everywhere. Even the dog regretted sneaking a few bites of the new cat food. Stay away from this new product. Based on my experience and the growing number of reviews, it's either inferior to an older product or contaminated.

This cat food is amazing. I have a particular cat who has a liquid discharge when eating any brand of cat food I have given her other than Iams Indoors. Sometimes I buy cheap cat food at the gas station when it runs out and I need a temporary solution. All my cat problems come back. Hairballs, diarrhea, overeating, etc. I have no explanation for that, but there is something special about this brand and not just clever marketing.

Accidentally bought this toothpaste instead of the regular Purina I buy for my cat as it now comes in the same turquoise pouch. Big mistake. About a week after I was introduced to this Iams food my cat became very ill with vomiting and loose stools. The next day it got worse and I ended up having to take her to the vet. Has the cause of the disease been determined? Gastroenteritis caused by food as it is the only thing she eats. A $220 vet bill later, my cat is healthy and acting normal again…
