Great SSD Enclosure

I switched my PC to SSD and love the ability to eject and protect drives when they're gone, or add a spare drive for more storage or backup space. ICY DOCK products are excellent. I have several and they are reliable and well designed.

  • Cool Product
Cons
  • Something Different

Feels like solid case construction

Feels like solid case construction. (Did some drop tests and stress tests) On the tray I don't see any point in adding an extra drive slot. This is probably to keep the hard drive more secure. This type of bay is technically "hot-swappable", if you have multiple of these bays then swapping a drive is similar to swapping flash (USB) drives. I personally think he needs a few more vents on the side which will be inside. personal computer

Pros
  • Solid construction
Cons
  • No automatic

It is great. I have used many of them.

They are great. I've used many of them on different computers and they've all worked flawlessly. They feel heavy, run silently and don't seem to get hot. They have a nice little power meter which I like. Too many devices have LEDs. A good product! EDIT: I should mention that one day I noticed that a major supplier was out of stock and I was concerned that they might have been discontinued. I called ToughArmor to check and the person I spoke to said the demand has been so high lately that they…

  • So far so good

  • Definitely bad product

Very easy, does what I wanted.

I bought this item from Newegg on 14th December 2010 and it still works like a dream. In December, this item was much cheaper at $29.99. Installation was very easy: just select the 3.5" drive bay, screw it in, connect the cables and insert your choice of 2.5" hard drives. I currently have a 64GB Corsair SSD installed and haven't had any crashes so far. A 32 GB Corsair SSD was also housed in front of it without any problems. Going from 32GB to 64GB was the greatest feeling in the world knowing…

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Very expensive
