It helps me verify that the outlets in the bathroom are properly grounded.

The sockets in my bathroom around my toilet are GFCI. I regularly check these outlets to make sure the RCDs are working properly. Sincerely, Bruce Heidel.

Pros
  • PERFECT QUALITY: A family run professional company with a long history of building relationships, providing the highest level of customer service and setting industry standards. For over 100 years we have dedicated ourselves to craftsmanship and its craftsmen.
Cons
  • Expensive

Revainrating 1 out of 5

It's disappointing how cheaply they're made now.

Made cheap now. I have the exact same model number and bought this tester for my co-workers. Once the package has arrived, it's pretty obvious that the quality of this tester has changed. Cheap plastic and light covers have already fallen off. It's frustrating when a good product is made so poorly. I'm sticking with Sperry from now on.

Pros
  • PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: GFCI outlet tester for use on 120V AC circuits. Turn off all instruments or devices on the circuit under test to avoid erroneous readings. Almost all common wiring errors can be detected with a simple instrument.
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

The same can be bought much cheaper.

I thought this product was of higher quality when it turned out. I thought it would be brighter, bright enough to see outside. It's not like this! It costs no more than any other product that can be purchased for less than $10. Absolute waste of money! I feel cheated as I expected a professional quality product as I have been using Ideal Industries products for many years. couldn't be more disappointed.

Pros
  • EASY TO READ CONFIGURATION CONFIGURATION CHECK: Compare the illuminated lights to the legend on the product label to determine the condition of the wiring. If improper connection is found, discontinue further testing and contact a qualified electrician.
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

4 1/2 Stars - Tester

PRO:1. good quality 2. Works great3. Easier to pull out of tight containers than some other testers. CONS: 1. In my opinion the text on the label is too small and difficult to read without reading glasses. Other testers of the same size managed to make the text more readable. I had about 6 of these types of testers from different brands. So far I can say that this is the best I've ever had. Of course, that cost the most.

Pros
  • GFCI TEST: Test indicator shows activation. RCD should work. If the RCD doesn't work, contact an electrician. If it works, reset it and plug it into an outlet. Activate the test button for at least 6 seconds. The visual indicator should disappear when triggered.
Cons
  • Updates
