Great product - easy to install

A 2 1/8" x 3 5/8" hole is what you need to cut in your drywall for a perfect fit. Then simply tighten the screws to pull the locks onto the back of the drywall. You must first make sure that the path is not crossed by a hairpin. If you don't have a bar finder, search "Super Easy Bar Finder Trick for Walls and Ceiling Beams" on YouTube.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

So cheaply made - electrical boxes, wiring and fittings

Two significant issues with this mounting bracket involving both screw holes not being made correctly. It was very difficult to turn the screws holding the small flanges that hold the bracket to the wall. I almost broke the bracket trying to turn the screws. Then when I tried to install the ethernet bezel, the screw holes that accept the bezel's screws were so tight that I had to remove the head of one screw and not leave both screws fully screwed in. I will buy a competitor's mount and throw…

Ideal for use on drywall

It is easy to use and works as advertised. This is ideal for use on a drywall. It is NOT designed for outlets. My use was to install ethernet ports for use through the wall and I didn't want to go through the hassle of finding a stud and installing a suitable gear box. My local hardware store didn't have this product, but did have a sheet metal version with two "sheets" that needed to be folded in to hold the product in place. Far inferior to that. I bought extra to be "in stock" after my…

Cheap and thin

Very thin I didn't even use it when I got it. One look and I knew the quality sucked. I decided to go to my local hardware store and buy an electrical box with the same setup but cheaper. All I did was cut off the back of the box, which gave me enough room for the wires inside. Another issue was that it says "low voltage only" right on top of the head, which was a no-brainer as nothing covers the wires, but the quality should have been given out on the part itself, not the pickup. If you're…

Works in sockets

They do exactly what you expect them to and are easy to install when all you need is a low voltage wiring board. I use them for both coax and CAT6 jacks. They are not as durable as I expected and one of them snapped while screwing it in. I could use more force than necessary, but with traditional single boxes I'd pull the threads off long before I had a chance to tear the material, which probably won't happen at all. Since the types of connectors used for network cables are not heavily used, I…

Poor design and almost impossible to fit properly

screw holes too narrow and tight for the screws to turn and tighten properly. In order to be able to tighten the anchor bolts at all, I had to hold the anchor with pliers and press down on the bolt with enormous force. I got tired of widening the holes a bit with a drill, but that didn't work because going to 9/64 would render the holes unusable. After a lot of effort I was able to install it. Now that brings me to the really important part. When trying to attach pads that I specially bought, I

Install in less than two minutes!

I'm not a big "all-rounder”, but I'm learning something new somewhere. I did a little research and figured they would work well with the low voltage CAT6 cables that run from my security cameras -> attic -> through the wall of my bonus room. any instructions, just looked how big the hole in the wall should be and cut it out with a utility knife. - It was a lot stronger than I expected when screwed into the drywall. - Installation took less than 2 minutes. Cons: - I didn't notice! Did…

Almost recommended

I could recommend these things in a heartbeat if only the screw holes on the plate were threaded. They went into the wall really easily and they freed up a lot of space to work with coax and Cat6 that were way too tightly packed for their old rebuild boxes. The result is clean looking, easy to fabricate when rewiring is required and just as easy to disassemble in the future should the need arise. However, screwing on the plate caps turned out to be much more difficult than necessary. These…
