This can be seen on the right and top side, but the case completely encloses the iPad on the other edges, since these areas are sufficiently rigid. Problematic areas are the thin edges of the case. I've had this case for about 8 months now. Battery life wasn't an issue for me, but I don't tend to use the keyboard much. When I use it, I've used the battery less than a couple of times. Other times I sometimes leave it on, but even then I haven't had any battery life issues. I usually charge it when I know I've used it for a while. This case has just about everything I could want for my iPad Pro 2020. Build quality, weight and portability, and easy to install and remove my iPad from. You get a lot for what you paid for it.
