I bought this because I wanted to keep my laptop in my backpack along with all my books and pens and didn't want the metal finish to get scratched. This cover definitely nailed it. The front pocket isn't big enough to hold my Chromebook charger without looking sprawling and bulky, but I use it to keep documents safe that I need to deliver to professors. Fits my XPS 15! Much tighter fit than the RevainBasics 15.6" case (and I've read that their 14" case is too tight for the XPS 15). This fits the XPS 15, but while it fits perfectly in width, it's a bit narrower in length than I expected. It is not far enough to insert into the sleeve, it needs to be pushed in slightly. However, I prefer a snug fit over a loose one because it's easier to fit in my backpack and costs $8.99. , I really can't complain.

I was looking for a case for a 15" MacBook Pro Late 2016 with TouchBar. It's a little loose. Fits pretty well horizontally, slips a bit vertically, I prefer a tight fit. Neoprene on one side and tarpaulin on the other look a bit strange. The canvas hangs a bit loose. Again, I'm very picky. Fully functional but there are other sleeves that fit better. I haven't been able to find a better fit with a separate compartment like this.
