No built-in strainer

Despite the kettle's attractive price and aesthetic looks, it's far from ideal for brewing loose tea. A removable stainless steel brew basket strainer is included, but it's fairly small and flat, so the tea leaves don't have much room to expand. And it is simply impossible to refuse this basket, since there is no built-in filter in the pan. Rather just a large hole connecting chamber and spout. This is likely a cost-cutting measure that distracts from the tea set.

Pros
  • Safe and high-quality materials
Cons
  • No instructions

The brewing basket is a bit small, not deep enough

I have only brewed Sencha with it so far and found that the brewing basket can be a bit small. The picture shows 8 grams of sencha and the third brew takes about 330ml of water to cover the tea, it basically limits what kind of tea you can brew but it makes a pretty good sencha. To update. I have real kyusu and tea. Better, I think handcrafted Kyusu is $45 plus tax, but worth brewing sencha properly and giving the leaves room to expand.
