I had trouble installing it and my son did it without damaging anything. It's a lot of weight and you just peel off the tape and attach the magnet to the back of your phone. Seems to be holding up well. Was only for one day. This is a great spot for a phone and is easy to see rather than being placed in a cup holder.

There were no instructions so I couldn't figure out how to install it. My friend found that the vents could be partially pulled out, so we installed it. Once we did that it was easy, but normally I would never try to pull the vents out. I also use a magnet on my phone case so I can't speak to the strength of the magnets in the box.

Love this item! Magnetic plate pasted on the back of the phone, because it uses a different car ball joint phone mount system, the phone has nowhere to go. Another advantage of the large magnetic plate is that you can attach your phone and position it at different heights.

I've read that people's cell phones keep falling. I have an Audi S3 with a very stiff suspension and very low tires and even when driving over train tracks or hard acceleration my phone hasn't dropped. I like Mount so far. It's a little difficult to pull the vent out to install without damaging anything but I managed it and it took about 5 minutes. It fits well on the dashboard and looks good. I'm actually excited about it. Update in 3 weeks: the phone has never been dropped.

Tried on 2019 RS3. Fits snugly between the vents, but needs about 1/8 inch or so for a secure fit. If you use a wireless charging phone like me, you cannot place a magnet in the center on the back of the phone or you will damage the wireless lose charging function.
