Innovative Marine Fish 🐠 Guard - Set of 2 Review

These lifeguards work great for my application. It didn't restrict the flow, it just didn't allow the surface to slide as much as before. I had to adjust the return jets to move the surface more.

I bought this product because I kept finding my fish in the overflow in my aquarium. This solved the problem but reduced the flow rate in my tank. Installing the shelter at night while the fish are sleeping as it seems they only get sucked into the overflow at night

I had a fish that died and was sucked into the overflow and it was garbage. I added this fish guard and my flow slowed down drastically when I took it off. Maddie, many hours later, my overflow reservoir filled up immediately. I need to add RODI water and only received one in my package. The only downside to this product is that the ability to overflow to the surface skimmer is greatly reduced. It's hard to give a good review, but it's not the manufacturer's fault it failed. It just annoys me that it was made for this tank. You can't expect this thing to work on every AIO tank. Think about it: if the flow of water is restricted in any way, then gravity won't help you either. The best solution is to make your own return filter like I did and just add an extra filter thread (available at Walmart as doll stuffing) to keep stupid fish from getting into the return and hiding.
