Great chess clock!: Home accessories

Very cute clock. The clock is quite old. but me too. Shipping was fast but the first watch I received didn't work. The defective watch was quickly replaced. Excellent customer service. I am very happy with the watch.

Pros
  • Beautiful
Cons
  • I have nothing against them, everything is fine

Missing crown

I'm sure it's a good watch except I only had one key. It was a gift for my son and I didn't check it when I received it. He was very disappointed as was I. We tried local watch repair shops to find a winding key but to no avail.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • weak

Queen's Gambit Time

It's fun to use the original when you play chess. Of course there is a digital chess clock, but it is nice to hear the clock ticking softly. A well finished case and I think the movement will last for many years. Nice touch for your chess setup.

Pros
  • Availability
Cons
  • Expensive Insurance

Although not the ideal watch for blitz tournaments

I've been playing chess for 60 years and this is my third watch in my life - and by far the nicest. I think it's very attractive, and its curved and multi-pointed "flags" allow for visual minute counting, as well as a more accurate five-minute strobe setting. While not the ideal watch for tournament blitz games, it is perfect for extended play and home use where beauty is as important as functionality.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Hard to say

Nice watch with last minute countdown

I bought this watch because I like the analog look and the falling of the flag. It has a special last minute ad. When I received the watch I was afraid to pull it back so I tried the watch out after doing what I thought was windy and one side didn't work. So I figured I'd have to return it and tried tightening it up and got a nice click. So I screwed it up to 5 clicks on each side and it started working great! 5 clicks took several hours. So my advice is to spin it until you hear a click and…

  • I hold my fists

Got this for nostalgia and aesthetics. Superb quality

No frills (other than a super fancy last minute flag), just a well made chess clock. Goes perfectly with our House of Staunton Fisher-Spasky set - it's identical to the watch used in their 1971 match except it was actually a different brand, but the aesthetic is right! Both watches, being hand wound, require matching the pushers to stop time - and as this is the traditional way of stopping a chess clock, I'm glad they left the mechanics as they used to be! Not for tournament play, no lag, etc…

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Durable
