Not what it should be

Was supposed to ship in two business days, it took almost two weeks to get to me and wasn't worth the wait. Check and swap the cables to see the differences. I currently have 300/300 fiber in my house connected to a pre-wired Cat 6 network. The results have been fairly consistent. I tested them at different times of the day just in case, and the speeds were still pretty consistent for every cable I tested. The best results for each were: 200ft long Cat 6a (very old now) - 1 ping, 320 down, 302…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Extremely rigid, permanent installation only

I first bought the cat5e from this company, it arrived damaged (no shipping damage). Sent it back for a refund and decided to check out their cat6a instead. No damage this time, but despite describing their Category 6a with stranded conductors (generally more flexible than solid conductors), this cable is very, very stiff. There's no way it will ever lay flat (or anywhere near), making it unusable for portable or mobile applications. It's probably fine if you're compacting it for a permanent…

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

New cable specifications?

I have been ordering Cat6A cables from Installer Parts for many years with consistent results and good cable performance. My last order was for some 75 foot Cat6A cables and I received some "new" thin Cat6A cables and some cables with the "thicker" Cat6A cables that I usually get. The only difference in the description of the sheath was that the 'new' thinner cable was marked 'CM type' and the thicker cable was marked 'CMX type', which is what I usually get. I sent back the "new" thinner cables

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No automation
