Good buy for cables and connections

Thickness is good and cuts well with a crimping tool. I bought this speaker wire thinking the red stripe would be easier to use than the traditional white without being overly bright. I can't completely hide the cable to one of the speakers. I'm not disappointed. A good product.

Wow, I should have done that a long time ago!

Wow, I should have done that a long time ago! What a difference in my stereo and speakers. Banana plugs are a lot easier to connect speakers than just inserting the wires into the contacts, rubbing the wires, and tightening them. And 14 gauge wire is perfect for everything.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Minor issues

Great quality cable! Must buy

I decided to upgrade my Yamaha receiver and used to use 16 gauge for all my speakers but heard about the quality of the cable and decided to give it a try. Men! What a big difference in sound, from 16g to 14g. Be sure to buy it, you won't regret it. The quality of the cable is very good and well constructed, it has a red marking for identification from the ground.

copper-plated aluminum.

Looks like copper, doesn't it? This is aluminum. Aluminum with copper coating. It probably does what copper wire does for a good reason. Yes. Is it flexible, flexible and beautiful? no It's aluminum and I'm guessing for one setup and leaving it ok, but if you're going to move it or if it's for mobile setups I doubt it will last. try not to bend it sharply. I feel like if they had noticed it was copper clad aluminum it wouldn't have deserved such low stars for it. But I feel like I was taken for

Not the quality I want

Product arrived on time as promised, but I feel like the 14 gauge wire I got from Home Depot is of better quality. I was going to use these to hook up the rear speakers in my reference Klipsch setup, but I'm returning them and decided to pay a little more for a 14 gauge coil on monoprice.com. Was a recommendation from a theater guy I watch on YouTube who knows where to get quality speaker wire. They may work well, but personally I want the best quality I can afford when it comes to sound…

nearly 2 feet shorter than listed length

I needed to run 3 33ft cables between two wall panels so I ordered a 100ft spool. As I uncoiled and straightened it to measure the sections, I found that the coil wasn't actually 100 feet long, it was only about 98 feet. I've measured it three times to confirm and in fact it's almost 2 feet short of the advertised length. Very frustrating. I emailed the TriStateValue seller about the issue but never received a response. I will be returning it as I really need the length I ordered. I have ridden

Elastic, without noticeable losses.

Good flexible copper cable. Easy to separate with a knife. That's all the speaker wire should be. I know what I'm talking about: I've been in the audio setup business for over 60 years. BTW, 14 AWG is all you need for cables up to 200w/reach (provided the run doesn't exceed 25ft. Just make sure it crosses every other cable at right angles and if you're really picky , no kinks. However, the larger the caliber and the shorter the barrel, the fewer losses you will notice (with a sensitive…

Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

The home audio and video industry perpetuates the myth that big cables = great sound. Stereo Review's Hirsch-Houck lab once tested 1000W RMS in Polk's flagship SDA speakers and showed that cheap 18-gauge tube wire (which is used for speaker wire) causes a slight loss, but not in the human range hearing. Comprehensive tests carried out by recognized experts using reference-class test bench equipment in a double-blind test. This sheds light on the status cost of speaker cables, which in no way…
